Still another old settler has passed and is a great beyond. This time the summons came to John A. Carlson who during the past 49 years has been a well-known farmer in this community, residing about 4 miles southeast of Lindstrom.
He died June 22 from a stroke of apoplexy after having been submitted to medical treatment at the Swedish Hospital last winter approved of no avail.
Mr. Carlson was a highly respected citizen and well thought of and esteemed by all his neighbors and friends.
John A Carlson was born in Vexio, Sweden, November 25, 1844 and came to America in 1865, settling first in Marine and later on in Franconia, where he resided until within the last few months when he resided with his daughter Mrs. LG Johnson of Luck, Wisconsin, at whose home he also died.
The funeral was held from the Carlson residence at 2 pm, last Wednesday, Dr. Oslund of Center City officiating and interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Deceased is survived by an aged wife, aged 82 years, one son, Axel Carlson, and two daughters Mrs. Frank Hall of Lindstrom and Mrs. LG Johnson of Luck, Wisconsin.
