Boney was a long time resident of Roswell but was originally from Lincoln where his heart longed to be. Boney was raised in Lincoln County in the Carabajal House next door to the infamous Torreon. He met his wife of 69 years, Sinforosa (Foro) Padilla of Capitan. They were married in 1939 in Capitan and relocated to Roswell in 1942 where they raised their family.
He was a self employed mason for several years and retired in 1977. During his years of retirement he loved camping at Baca Camp site and told stories of his adventures in Lincoln County and stories told to Boney by his father about the times of Billy the Kid. He kept all of his grandchildren entertained with childhood years and experiences. All of his children lived his life through his stories and could hear them more than once. His final days were spent at home with his wife and visits from his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all but remembered by all of the different ways he touched each member of his family.
