Rosa Cantu Barboza, 81, of Los Fresnos, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 13, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at Solara Hospital in Harlingen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Maria Luisa Cantu, five brothers and four sisters. Rosa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Enrique Barboza of Los Fresnos; children, Marisela (Odon) Palmenez of La Feria, Margarita (Angel) Hernandez of Robstown, Angel Barboza of San Benito, Carlos (Berta) Barboza, Maria Del Rosario Barboza, Manuel (Ileana) Barboza and Raul (Imelda) Barboza of Los Fresnos, Esther (Robert) Lara and Alfonso (Esperanza+) Barboza of Corpus Christi, and Gloria (Max Jr.) Reyna of Friendswood, Texas; sisters, Otilia Barboza and Herminia Limon of Brownsville; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. Interment followed at Buena Vista Burial Park. Serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother were Celina Barboza, Laura B. Villegas, Rene Palmenez, Robert Lee Barrera, Randy Cantu, Adrian Barboza, Omar Barboza and Jaime Barboza.
