Born near Otterbein, she was a Tippecanoe county resident all of her life. She was a graduate of Otterbein high school and Lafayette Business College and was a member of the Otterbein Methodist church and Battle Ground Home Economics club. She married Fred Datson on 25 Oct 1922 in Brookston, Tippecanoe County, Indiana
