Marie H. Bell, 94, of Virden, IL, formerly of Chatham, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
She was born July 24, 1906, in Springfield, the daughter of Earl Esta and Margaret Elizabeth Paul Cantrall. She married Jesse Dean Bell in 1929 in Buffalo; he preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Bell, a homemaker, was a member of Chatham Senior Citizens Center and Chatham Baptist Church.
Survivors: two sons, Richard (wife, Nita) and Harold (wife, Carol) Bell, both of Chatham; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elsie Smith of Buffalo, Elizabeth (husband, Willis) Mavis of Curran and Gladys Sommer of Springfield.
Services: Staab Polk Memorial Home in Chatham, the Rev. Randy Dempsay officiating. Burial: Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
