Died on Sunday, February 25, 2001 in Rock Island, IL. Born in Frankfort, IL. Lived in Joliet most of her life until she moved to Rock Island.
Survived by her daughter Joyce (Barry) Boothe of Harlingen, TX. Four grandchildren, James (Amy) Lauterbach Jr. of Rock Island, IL, Jennifer (Chris) Stephens of Georgetown, TX, Brad (Angie) Patton of Davenport, IA and Kelly Hinrichs of Bettendorf, IA and six great-grandchildren. Son-in-law Michael (Julie) Oelrich of Blue Grass, IA. A dear cousin and special friend, Eileen Bruggeman of Bradenton, FL. Many other cousins, in-laws and friends also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband Ray Canterbury (1970), a daughter Kathy Oelrich (1995), parents Alvin (1980) and Sophie (Scheel) (1970) Bruggeman.
Graduate of J.T.H.S. class of 1936. Member of First Presbyterian Church since 1960, and the Ladies Auxiliary Cantigny Post #367. Veteran of W.W. II serving with the U.S. Navy WAVES. Assigned to the Ordnance Dept. in Washington, D.C. and later was assigned to the U.S. Naval Air Station, Pearl Harbor, HI.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2001 at 12:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Craig Herr officiating. Visitation Saturday 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort, IL. Memorial to the First Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
