Beulah C. Adkins, 93, passed away June 1, 2012.
She was born January 29, 1919 in Creamery, W. Va. to John and Ruth Canterbury. She retired from McNeil Corp. and was a volunteer at City Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mathew L. Adkins; sister, Josie Mullins; and brothers, John, Robert, and Franklin Canterbury. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Kathie Adkins of Akron; granddaughters, Suzanne (Jeff) Naugle and Christina Adkins, both of Akron; great-grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Naugle; sisters, Virginia Lawrence of Huntington, W. Va. and Mae (Mike) Collins of Victoria, Texas; brother, Bud (Cathy) Canterbury of Cuyahoga Falls; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at St. Lukes, Portage Lakes, who became her second family the past eight years. The care and love she received is greatly appreciated.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m., where service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Community, 615 Latham Lane, Akron, OH 44319, in memory of Beulah.
