Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Lounvenia Cannon Anderson will be held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM in First Nazareth Baptist Church, 2351 Gervias Street, Columbia, SC with burial in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Helen Louvenia Cannon Anderson, age 92, departed this life surrounded by family and friends at Carver Hospice Center in Durham, NC on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

She was born on October 30, 1919 in Columbia, SC to the late Henry Cannon and Florence Harlee Cannon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 yrs, George Anderson; by two brothers, Charles and John Cannon, and her sister, Queen Ester Ross. She served for 35 yrs as a dedicated educator and librarian in the Richland County Public School Districts 1 & 2.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Anderson Whitworth; her grandchildren, Njeri, Haile and Shaina Whitworth; her great-grandchildren, Tariq Dillard and Avauni Manago; and a host of nieces and nephews.
