Claudia Ethel Nix, 78, Kokomo, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital. Claudia Ethel Cannon Nix was born March 19, 1934, the daughter of Sim Cannon and Mary Chatman Cannon in Parma, Mo.

She was a member of Fountain of Life Word and Worship Center and U.A.W. Local 292. She was employed as an assembler at Delco Electronics, retiring in 1980 after 15 years of service.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Lee Nix Sr.; sons, Harvey Lee Nix, Jr. (Lindell), Malden, Mo., Robert Ivy Nix Sr. (Kimberly Gipson), Kokomo, Billy Ray Nix Sr. (Dana Brown), Kokomo, Kenneth S. Nix Sr., Kokomo, and Jeffery G. Nix Sr., Kokomo; daughters, Patricia A. Perrigen, Kokomo, Barbara J. Matthews (Marvin Newman), Kokomo, and Versie L. Nix (Edw. Bay), Logansport; brothers, James Cannon Sr., Kokomo, and Jerry Carnell Cannon Sr. (Joann), Kokomo; sisters, Annie M. Young (Leroy), Kokomo, Dorothy Perkins (Pastor Gene), Malden, Mo., and Peggy L. McClatchey, Lafayette; brother-in-law, Frank Gaines, Las Vegas; 92 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Grace Memorial Institutional C.O.G.I.C. Elder Dennis Sanders will be the officiant, and Superintendent Gary Bush will be the eulogist. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Garden. Arrangements entrusted to Bluitt & Son Funeral Home.
