Robert W. Cannon, 88, of Camargo, Illinois died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday (March 30, 2016) at the Newman Rehab and Health Care Center.

Mr. Cannon was born on Nov. 3, 1927 in Gilman, Illinois, a son of Wendell and Laura (Johnston) Cannon. He married Ruth Ann Burns. She died on Nov. 19, 1975. He then married Patricia Thompson. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Curtis (Sarah) Cannon; two daughters, Wendy (Mike) Sabatini and Judith (Ron) Gagner; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one brother, John (Mary) Cannon.

Mr. Cannon was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran. He farmed in the Camargo area. He was a rural route mail carrier.

He was a member of the Camargo-Villa Grove Masonic Lodge 885, Villa Grove VFW Post 2876, the American Legion, Tuscola Moose Lodge, Tri-city Country Club, Camargo United Methodist Church and Douglas County Museum.
