Norma died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus, Nebraska.
Norma was born April 21, 1921 in Grayslake, IL to Leslie B. and Mamie J. (Panzer) Cannon. She graduated from Warren High School in 1939. On June 1, 1941 Norma was united in marriage to Newman Cunningham in Lake Villa, IL. She was a member of the Immanuel Church in Gurnee, IL for over 45 years where she was active in Bible Studies and Women’s Ministry. She is survived by her son Leslie John Cunningham of Genoa, NE, daughter Rita Ann Cunningham of Columbus, NE, daughter Patricia M. Jenkinson of Columbus, NE, daughter Norene J. (Bruce) Massey of Crane Hill, AL, and her sister Dorothy (Edward) Bonovitz of Lindenhurst, IL. Also sister-in-law Barbara Cannon of Gurnee, IL; grandchildren: John L. of Cataldo, ID, Michelle (Mark) Maenche of Charleston, SC, Laura (fiancé James) Jenkinson of Alma, NE, Scott (Angilica) Jenkinson of Nashville, TN, Colleen Jenkinson of Omaha, NE, and Norma Jean Jenkinson of Norfolk, NE; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Mamie Cannon, her husband Newman Cunningham, sister Carol Lodesky, sister Beulah Porter, sister Nellie Porter, brother Russell Cannon, brother Donald Cannon, Infant brother Clifford Cannon, son-in-law Arthur Jenkinson, 1 grandson, and 1 great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Church, 2300 N. Dilleys Road, Gurnee, IL with burial to follow at Millburn Cemetery, Millburn, IL.
