Mrs. Amason passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Clay County Hospital. A native and life-long resident of Clay County, she had worked at Higgins Manufacturing Company for 15 years then worked for another eight years at Russell Manufacturing Company where she retired. Mrs. Amason had also been a school bus driver for the Clay County Board of Education and was a member of County Line Baptist Church. LaRue loved sewing, gardening, cooking and at the age of 90 still enjoyed mowing her lawn.
Mrs. Amason is survived by her daughter, Beth Rollo (Bob) of Salem, AL; her son, Marc Amason (Janeen) of Kennesaw, GA; her sister, Nita Rush of Cragford; three grandchildren: Teressa Lewandowski (John) of Okemos, MI, Brandon Crew (Tasha) of Greenville, GA and Stephen Amason of Kennesaw, GA; four great-grandchildren: Brock and Davis Lewandowski of Okemas, MI, Tyler and Carter Crew of Greenville, GA; one step-grandson, Rob Rollo and one step-great-grandchild, Bethany Rollo, both of Bossier City, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents: Grady Canady and Ethel Miller Canady and her husband of 56 years, Worth Amason.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Crew, Stephen Amason, Dwain Rush, Dale Rush, David Rush, Danny Rush, Derwin Rush and Dru Rush.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland and until 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday.
