It is with heavy heart that we, the family of Edna L. Canaday, who graced the earth with her presence, announce that she departed this earthly home January 17, 2015 for her place in heaven.

Born September 19, 1926 she was the daughter of John and Madelina Tessaro of Belluno, Italy. Edna lived all her life in Eccles, WV. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was kind to everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jesse L. Canaday; her twin sister Mary Rose Price, and her brother Victor Tessaro.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Edward L. Canaday and his wife Sumalee of Hendersonville, TN, and her daughter Sheila Campbell-Patton and her husband William P. Jr. of Glade Springs. One grandson, Charles L. Campbell, II and his wife Jennifer of Canal Fulton, OH. Granddaughters Jenny Canaday- Johnston and her husband Jordan of Missoula, MT and Julie A. Canaday-Friedman and her husband Jason of Nashville TN, and great grandchildren Matthew Campbell, William Campbell, a new great grandson Hudson born in November whom she never got to see, and a brother, Andrew Tessaro of Elyria, OH.

Do not weep for me because I am with my Father and in my Father’s house there is no sorrow, for I suffer no more. Blessed by the name of the Lord for I can walk now and have no pain. Don’t weep for me for I am still in your hearts. Each day is a blessing and so are our memories, think about the love I have for you.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surley goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

There will be no funeral or visitation. Graveside committal services will be officiated by Father Jon White.

Donations of sympathy may be made to the Humane Society of Raleigh County’s “Edna’s Take Care of the Animals Fund” at 325 Grey Flats Road, P.O. Box 115, Beckley, WV 25802 304-256-8921.
