Cathy Lou Abernathy, 49, Killen, Ala., died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at ECM Hospital, Florence, after an extended illness.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Green Hill Funeral Home chapel, with Brother Don Williams and Bill Mahers officiating. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery.Visitation was Tuesday evening.A native of Cook County, Ill., she was a member of Florence Boulevard Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and worked at Jersey Creek Manufacturing.She is survived by her husband, Billy Abernathy, Killen; son, Chris Abernathy and wife, Frankie, Florence; daughter, Bridgett Abernathy, Killen; grandchild, Lee Franks, Florence; sister, Linda Campbell, Killen; brothers, Mike Campbell, Killen, Sam Campbell, Lexington; several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will include Wayne Holden, Tim McDougal, Ronnie Hovater, Robert Bogus, Jerry Bogus and Josh Llewellyn.Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Danley.Mrs. Abernathy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Venus Letson Campbell; and one brother, Pete Campbell.Green Hill Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
