Services for Anna Christine Campbell Branham of Natchez will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Greenwood.
Mrs. Branham, 99, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Natchez Regional Hospital in Natchez.
Mrs. Branham was born Nov. 17, 1908, in Clinton, Ken., the first child of Sophie and Calvin Campbell. In the 1920s, the family moved to Memphis, where Mrs. Branham graduated from Central High School. In 1938 she married Edwin Branham and resided in Greenwood for 64 years. Mrs. Branham was currently living in Natchez to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
A charter and faithful member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Mrs. Branham was active in the Wallace Sunday School Class, prepared communion and assisted with church meals for many years. She was a member of the Greenwood Woman's Club. Mrs. Branham was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, travel, needlepoint and sewing. She will be remembered for her graciousness and generosity and by many for her trays of delicious homemade rolls.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Branham and a sister, Louise Steadman.
She is survived by her only child, Anna Branham James of Natchez. Other survivors include a sister, Kathryn Boggs of Memphis; two granddaughters, Allison James Hescock and her husband Dr. Jay Hescock and Callie James Daters and her husband Dr. Andrew Daters; four great-grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Hescock and James and Grace Daters all of New Orleans. Other dearly loved relatives in her life include a nephew, David C. Branham of Greenwood; nieces Betty Branham Pope of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Beverly Taliaferro of Drasco, Ark., Nancy McDougal of Holly Springs and Betty Boggs Saxon and Dorothy Bishop, both of Memphis; and special-in-law Nell Woolf of Natchez, along with cherished friends in Greenwood.
Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be David C. Branham, Mark Kimmel, Dennis Barlow, Brister Barlow and Dennis Barlow Jr.
Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be in Itta Bena Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church in Greenwood or Jefferson Street United Methodist Church in Natchez.
