Virginia "Ginny" Rose Campbell Baker, 75, of Danville died Sunday, Dec 28 2008 at her home.
Born Dec. 2, 1933, in Evansville, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Manson Clayton and Margaret Genevieve Hornby Campbell. She was a retired teller at Bank One and worked for several other banks, including Citizens, First Security and Old National Bank in Evansville. She was a secretary for Durham & Demaree Insurance. She earned her real estate license and sold for Durham Real Estate. She was a member of Eastern Star and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where she formerly served as a deacon and on several committees. She was an avid bridge player and reader.
Virginia was preceded in death by her three brothers, James Allen, Manson and Wayne Austin Campbell.
Survivors include her husband, James Richard Baker Sr., three sons, James Richard "Rick" (Jennifer) Baker of Philpot, Ky., Jeffrey Allen (Debbie) Baker of Danville, Ky., and Joseph Terrell (Pam) Baker of Crittenden, Ky.; a sister Gail Ann (Mike) Cobb of Evansville, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Josh, Amber, Jacob and Sara Baker.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Shepard. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rick Baker, Josh Baker, Jacob Baker, Joe Baker, Steve Campbell, Ronnie Campbell, Randy Campbell and Bruce Hargrave. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Finley Hendrickson, Amber Baker, Sara Baker, Jackie Spivey, Carlene Muellin and Connie Barlow. The family requests donations to Heritage Hospice.
