James Campbell, of Jacksonville, and a native of this community, died last Friday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m., at the Christian Home in Jacksonville, where he had been a resident since November 5, 1940.

Mr. Campbell was born near Waverly July 25, 1864, the son of Joseph A. and Mahala Hart Campbell.

After going to Jacksonville, he worked for a number of years as a photographer for McCullough's studio, and later was an insurance agent.

He is survived by one brother, Sterling P. Campbell, of Waverly, and a number of nephews and nieces. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Home in Jacksonville, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. A. D. Hermann, pastor of the Woodson Christian church, officiating. Mrs. Lois Hardin was the soloist.

Burial was in East cemetery, Jacksonville.
