Marie L Campbell, 88, Wenatchee, died in a local convalescent center Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Butte Creek, Ore., on Aug. 29, 1890. As a child she moved with her parents to a homestead in Alberta. The family later moved to Wilbur, then to the Moses Lake area. They lived at Port Hill, Idaho, when she was 15 years old, and later to Spokane.
Mrs. Campbell was an early-day beauty operator, operating one of the first permanent wave machines. She traveled throughout eastern Washington.
She married Henry L "Doc" Campbell in Idaho. They lived for years at Holden where her husband was employed by the Howe Sound Mining Co. They later moved to Davenport where he preceded her in death in 1963. She had since lived in Wenatchee.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ida Lewis, Soap Lake.
