She was born in Danville to John E. and Emma La Verne Combs Campbell.
She married John Ryder Ballard in 1947. He preceded her Nov. 18, 1970.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Lee (Ron) Foster of Danville, Nancy La Verne (Jim) Berry of Lakeland, Fla., Robin Lynn (Bob) Turner of Danville and John Franklin (Stacie) Ballard of Danville; grandchildren Linda (Timothy) Pearson, Laura Bennett, Jim (Rosebud) Berry, Jeff Berry, Tyler and Travis Turner, Jordan and Alexis Ballard; great- grandchildren Kayla, Leanna, Jonica, Bodhi and Devynne. A brother, John E. (Lois) Campbell of Danville, also survives.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter Cindy Lou and three sisters, Frances, Ruby and Virginia.
