DANIEL CLINTON CAMPBELL - Sunday - March 28, 1993
CHELAN _ Daniel Clinton Campbell, 71, businessman and lifelong resident of Chelan, died Friday, March 26, 1993, in the Lake Chelan Community Hospital following a three-month illness.
He was born Dec. 15, 1921, to Arthur C. and Anna (Monfort) Campbell at Chelan, where he was raised. He graduated from Chelan High School in 1940. He attended the University of Washington and was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-25 pilot and flight leader. He flew out of the Aleutian Islands to the Japanese Kurile Islands. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross and was a captain at the time of his discharge.
Mr. Campbell returned to Chelan and married Fern Eminger in 1948 at Wenatchee.
He managed the family's business, Campbell's Lodge, until he retired a few years ago.
Mr. Campbell was active in community affairs.
Survivors include his wife, at home; a son, Clinton of Chelan; a daughter, Bonnie Avery of Bellevue; a brother, Arthur of Chelan; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel at Chelan.
