Laura Leonora Campbell Anthony entered peacefully into God's rest on May 4, 2011. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 10, 1925 to Patrick Hazzard Campbell and Laura Lee (Beck) Campbell.
Her parents and her only sibling, Patrick H. Campbell, Jr., preceded her in death.
The Campbell and Beck families were pioneer families of San Antonio and Laura Belonged to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She enjoyed history and family and had a passion for reading. She would read the newspaper from cover to cover daily. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed many years of bowling and fellowship with her friends. Mrs. Anthony was usually a women of a few words and was a women known for her gentleness, kindness and compassion. if you wanted here opinion you would have to ask her for it!
Her husband, Henry W. Anthony, Jr., was a CPA for Carneiro, Chumney & Co. for many years. He passed away in 1972 and her two sons Henry W. (Billy) Anthony III, and Patrick Kennedy (Kenny) Anthony also preceded her in death. Following her husband's death she worked as a civil service employee at Randolph and Brooks Air Force bases.
Laura is survived by two daughters, Mary Leonora Anthony Kelley, of El Paso, Texas and Winifred Lee Anthony (Ken) Bockholt of Corpus Christi, Texas. She had seven grandchildren, Tammy Mae Kelley, James Anthony Kelley, Edward Henry Kelley (Angelica), Stacie Beth Bunting (Jim), Clinton Matthew Bockholt, Amy Lenore Aguirre (Andrew), and Clayton Cody Bockholt, eleven great-grandchildren, Daniel Vega, Kelley Vega, Fabien Kelley, Christopher Kelley, Arianna Kelley, Vincent Kelley, Kaelin Bunting, McKenna Bunting, Cassidy Bunting, Christian and Dominic Aguirre.
A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in the St. Jude Chapel beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass by Fr. Bob Dunn to follow. Internment will bee at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 2:30 p.m. on May 11, 2011
