AUSTIN -- The funeral for Mary Kay Lommen will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. James Mikkelson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Lommen, 56, of 205 17th St. N.W., a nursing supervisor at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, died Sunday (April 6, 1997) at her home.
Mary Kay Campbell was born June 11, 1940, in Eau Claire, Wis., and graduated from Anchor Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. On June 2, 1962, she married Dr. Morris Lommen in Eau Claire. In 1983 she continued her schooling in Rochester and for 12 years worked at Saint Marys Hospital as a supervisor and staff nurse in the surgical unit. She lived in Orlando, Fla., for two years in the late 1960s and had resided in the Austin area for 35 years. After moving to Austin, she helped set up Meals on Wheels and volunteered with the Red Cross. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, served on the Austin Symphony Board and was a former member the Northwest Singers and Friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Heidi (Mrs. Brad) Haus of Eagan, Minn., and Kari (Mrs. Jeff) Morrow of Green Bay, Wis.; son, Eric of St. Paul; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Michael Campbell and James Campbell, both of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
