No service is planned for Roberta "Bobbie" Bruce, 92, of Chico, who died Wednesday, May 10, 1995, in a local convalescent hospital. She was born June 28, 1902, in District 10 near Marysville to Frank and Lela Campbell. She graduated from Gridley High School then went on to earn a teaching credential from Chico State University. ----- She moved to east Gridley in 1911. She taught school in Stirling City, where she met Ernest Bruce. They were married on July 3, 1928, in Reno, Nev. The same year, they moved to Chico. ----- Mrs. Bruce taught school in Northern California and Orland for 11 years. She retired in 1968. ----- She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Josephine - Chico Chapter 104. Her hobbies included salmon fishing, hunting and traveling. ----- In addition to her husband, survivors include seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. ----- Inurnment will be in the mausoleum at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home."
