Alan Lee Camp (Age 56) Of Washtucna, WA, formerly of La Crosse, WA passed away Monday, May 14, 2007 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. The son of Melvin T. and Donna L. (Lukins) Camp; Alan was born August 23, 1950 at Colfax, WA. He graduated fromLacrosse High School in 1968, where he was very active in 4-H and won a trip to Washington D.C. He attended Big Bend Community College receiving an AA Degree in Agriculture Science. Alan then enlisted in the US Air Force serving four years during the Vietnam era. He returned to the family farm for five years, before driving truck for Herron Trucking. Alan worked for the Dusty Co-Op and became manager. He then spent ten years at the Grange Supply in Wenatchee, WA until 1992 when he returned home to Lacrosse and farmed with his brother Steve. He married Janet Sue Snyder August 19, 1995 they have made their home in Washtucna. He was a member of the Lacrosse Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school, was a bible study leader and became a Lay Spokesman for the Methodist Church. He belonged to the Ralston Grange and was a member of the Lacrosse Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving is his wife Janet; children Jennifer Camp of Otis Orchards, WA, Karen (Travis) Swenson of Wenatchee, David Hollenback and Amy Hollenback both of Spokane and Annie White of Poolville, Texas; four grandchildren; mother Donna Camp of Spokane; brother Steve (Becky) Camp of Lacrosse; sisters Nancy Whicker of Tok, Alaska and Leann (Jerry) Hibbard of Palouse, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Camp. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Lacrosse Methodist Church, with Pastors Mike Cooper and Dusty Hampton, officiating. Vault Inurnment will follow at the Lacrosse Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Alan's name to either the Disabled American Veterans, Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Union Gospel Mission. DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME, RITZVILLE, WA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
