EAST LIVERPOOL - Darlene G. Cameron, of Boring Lane, East Liverpool, passed away at 9 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 70.

Born in Newell on May 3, 1939, she was a daughter of the late James Edward and Mabel Reed Wells. She had spent her lifetime in this area.

Darlene had been employed at the Homer Laughlin China Co. at one time, and had also been a bus driver for East Liverpool City Schools.

Baptized at the First Christian Church in Chester, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary as well as the VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving her at home is her husband, Leonard D. Cameron, whom she married on Jan. 11, 1966.

She will also be missed by her daughter, Lynn Bowyer and her husband, Terry, as well as her son, Scott Cameron, and his wife, Amy, all of East Liverpool.

There are five grandchildren, Terry Bowyer and his wife, Cristy, Michael Bowyer and his wife, Jenn, Scott Cameron, Taylor Cameron, and Justin Cameron. Three great-grandchildren survive as well: Braydon Bowyer, Noah Bowyer and Karsyn Bowyer.

Two sisters, Louise Pittenger and her husband, Leonard, of Chester, and Virginia Johnson and her husband, Larry, of Aurora, Ohio, also survive as well as her step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Reed, and six brothers, Romie Reed, Edward Wells, Bernard Wells, Donald Wells, Fred Wells and Robert Wells.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted by Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Locust Hill Cemetery.
