Masonic Burial To Be Given Mrs. Agnes E. Cameron of McAlester
McAlester, Feb. 6 - Mrs. Agnes E. Cameron, supreme worthy associate advisor of the Order of Rainbow for girls, and grand treasurer of the grand chapter Order of Eastern Star in Oklahoma, died at her home in McAlester early Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Cameron has been identified with Eastern Star work in Oklahoma since 1883. She was elected first grand treasurer of the grand chapter of Indian Territory in 1889, and has served the grand lodge in some capacity since that time. In 1920 she was again chosen grand treasurer. She was the first supreme mother advisor of the Order of Rainbow, and assisted in the organization of that order.
Mrs. Cameron's husband, William Cameron, was a prominent mining engineer, and for a number of years was United States mine inspector.
Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian church in McAlester at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon with W. Mark Sexson, supreme recorder of the Order of Rainbow, and grand master of the Masonic lodge in Oklahoma officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery at McAlester.
