Joseph Richard "Joe Dick" Cambron, age 86, of East Main Street, Springfield, passed away at 9:50 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center. A native of Washington County, he was born on January 9, 1930 to the late Joseph Richard, Sr. and Lida Elizabeth Smith Cambron. He was a member of the St. Dominic Catholic Church and a retired painter. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Thornton Cambron and Henry "Pistol" Cambron and six sisters, Loretta Osbourne, Jane Luckett, Rose Hagan, Louise Mills, Helen Brady and Isabelle Corley. Survivors include: his wife, Joann Logsdon Cambron; a step-son, Robert Allan Osbourne (Tonya) of Springfield; two step-daughters, Jill Anna Justus (Steven) of Lexington and Sharon Marie Medley (Daniel) of Springfield and eight step-grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, at the St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Culpepper Elliott, the church pastor, officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 Tuesday morning at the church. Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
