DORIS ELAINE AVERI 74, of McMinnville, Oregon, formerly of Fremont, California, died on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at her home of natural causes. Services will take place at a later date in Fremont, California. Interment will take place at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, California. Doris was born on April 7, 1931 in Lady Smith, Wisconsin, the daughter of Archibald and Geneve Calloway. She spent childhood and attended school in Wisconsin. Doris married Joseph Averi on August 24, 1955 in San Diego. They made their home in Fremont, California where they owned an Insurance Agency for 31 years. Joseph passed away in 2002. Doris then moved to McMinnville to be closer to her son and family. She enjoyed playing bingo and board games. Doris loved spending time with her family and her dog "Peewee". She was the most loving mother any one could ever have. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Sandra Averi of Fremont, California and John and Linda Averi of McMinnville, Oregon; son-in-law, Gary Gil of McMinnville; and grandchildren Jaclyn Averi and Rachael Averi of McMinnville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
