Mable Callender Beasley, 88, of Liberty, died Feb. 2, 2008, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation is 6 to 9 tonight at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Liberty, then 9 a.m. Tuesday until services there at 10 a.m., with Bishop Ronnie Blalock officiating. Burial will be in the Blalock Family Cemetery in Liberty, with Bro. Melvin Blalock in charge of grave dedication.
Mrs. Beasley was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Liberty to Loice William and Jenny Nevels Callender. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Liberty.
Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Luther Beasley; a son, Robert Lum Beasley; four brothers, Richard, Howard, Edward and L.J. Callender; two sisters, Bertie Ruth Morgan and Ruby Callender; and a granddaughter, Betty Sue Bates.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Janie Wilkinson and Mary Artmann, both of Liberty, and Ruby and the Rev. Burnett Carraway of Smithdale; a son, David Beasley of McComb; a granddaughter, Kristy Artmann of McComb; 11 grandsons and their wives, James R. and Laura Etheridge Artmann, and Bobby G. and Melissa Carraway, all of Smithdale, John F. Artmann of Summit, Ricky L. and Lisa Hedgepeth Baggett of Monticello, William W. and Shara Copeland Baggett of Liberty, Virgil Roy "Duke" and Marina Beasley of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Billy C. and Charman Beasley, and David Jewitt Beasley, all of Bentonville, Ark., Andrew L. Beasley, and Ralph Bates, both of McComb, and Daniel Beasley of Liberty; 11 great-grandchildren, Heather Baggett Barber of Monticello, Lance Baggett of Hattiesburg, Justin, Kaitlyn and Kamrie Baggett, all of Liberty, Marco Beasley of Tuscaloosa, Meghan Carraway and Brittany Rials, both of Smithdale, Carolyn Beasley and Billy Christopher Beasley, both of Bentonville, and Morgan Beasley of Baton Rogue; two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Barber of Monticello and Garron Baggett of Liberty; a brother, David Callender of Liberty; and a sister, Helen Lambert of Liberty.
Pallbearers will be James R. Artmann , John F. Artmann, Billy C. Beasley, Bobby G. Carraway, Lance Baggett and Justin Baggett. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Baggett, Melvin Blalock, Kenneth Blalock and David Jewitt Beasley.
