Mr. Leo Paul Callan, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Mr. Callan was born in Haines City, Florida and has lived in the Jacksonville area most of his life.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, owner & operator of Callan Land Surveyors and retired as Chief of Topographical Surveying for the City of Jacksonville.

He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Laverne Kea Callan; 2 brothers: Woody Callan and his twin brother, Joe Callan; 3 sisters: Grace Fagan, Marie Fevec and Allie Burnsed and a nephew: CW Ed Marsh, who was like a brother. Survivors include 3 daughters: Jeanie Mizelle, Gail Morrell (Bill) and Debbie Reid (Chester); 6 grandchildren: Christy McMillan, Cindy Mays, Cathy Stephan, Debra Morrell, Lisa Eagan and Len Gaskins, Jr.; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church, 5330 Dunn Avenue with Pastor Donnie Miles and Rev. Dan Eidson, officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. His family will greet friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Peeples Family Funeral Homes, Riverview Chapel, 2220 Soutel Drive near Lem Turner Road.
