Mrs. Fulmer was born August 23, 1916 in Ninety Six, SC. She was the daughter of Robert Turner Calhoun and Juanita Sprott Calhoun.
She graduated from Ninety Six High School and Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in 1937.
She served forty years of nursing in Columbia and Charleston hospitals. Her last nine years of nursing were spent at the Tradd Street Home of the Charleston artist, Elizabeth O'Neil Verner.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Arion Society Auxiliary and the Charleston Lion's Club Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Leon Fulmer and his wife Bobbie Molony Fulmer of Charleston, SC; Ronald Calhoun Fulmer and his wife Sara Shirley Rogers of Columbia, SC and Thomas Michael Fulmer and his wife Sally Jo Fulmer of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren, Julee Fulmer Armstrong, Ashley Fulmer Pace, Aimee Stoll Fulmer, Ronald Calhoun Fulmer, Jr., Thomas Able Fulmer and Robert Turner Fulmer; six great grandchildren, Garrett Todd Armstrong, William Robert Armstrong, Grayson Richard Armstrong, Katie Ann Fulmer, Ronald Calhoun Fulmer, III, and Emma Marie Pace; one sister, Sue Calhoun Drake of Summerton, SC.
