Mrs. Earlie Burroughs
(WEDOWEE) Services for Mrs. Earlie Burroughs, 98, of Wedowee were Saturday, May 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Samuels and Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial followed at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. [Clay Co, AL]
Mrs. Burroughs died Thursday, May 1, at her home.
A Clay County native, she was born June 24, 1904, daughter of James Monroe and Cora Joiner Caldwell. She was a homemaker and a member of Ava United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Revie Burroughs; one son Buren Burroughs; two daughters, Hazel Gray and Verna Mae Longshore; and two grandsons, Calvin Burroughs and Sherron G. Benefield Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Mohee Foster of Wedowee; two sons, James Burroughs of Morgan City and the Rev. Bobby Burroughs of Wadley; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Gene Grant and her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee.
