Mrs. Elsie Best Dies Unexpectedly at Her Farm Home Sunday
Mrs. Elsie Best, wife of Charles W. Best, died unexpectedly at her home five miles northeast of Princeville on Sunday at 8 p. m. from a heart attack. Although Mrs. Best has been in poor health for almost a year. Her passing was a great shock to her family and friends.
Memorial services in charge of the Rev. Richard N. Chase, pastor of the Princeville Presbyterian church, were held at the Tretheway funeral home Wednesday at 2 p. m. Interment was in the Princeville cemetery.
Elsie M., daughter of Jackson W. and Ida Shane Caldwell, was born in Millbrook township May 23, 1880. She grew to womanhood and attended the rural school in that community. In 1910 she moved to Princeville, where she resided until her marriage to Charles W. Best on February 22, 1911.
To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Hollis, LaFayette.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, a brother, Clarence Caldwell of Edelstein, three sister, Delis Caldwell of Brimfield, Berth and Carrie Caldwell, Princeville; four grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends.
