Ms. Mattie Caldwell was educated in the public schools of Richland County. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an active, longtime member of Apostolic Outreach Ministry, serving as the Mother of the church. She had a quiet and oh so sweet spirit that came with a beautiful smile that warmed the room. She was our Rock. No matter what, we could count on Mama. Ms. Mattie Caldwell was loved very much and will be abundantly missed by all.
She leaves to mourn her passing, five daughters: Linda (Mark) Robinson, Marion Caldwell, Vernell (Eric) Brown, Thomasina (Anthony) Brown and Valerie Caldwell all of Columbia, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a special person she dearly loved, Mark Beatty, who loved and cared for her as his own mother; as well as other relatives and dear friends.
Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
