Frank Bates: she can be found on the 1850 US Census for Columbia, Richland, SC at age 12, living with (assumed) father Davis Caldwell, 51, and siblings, Augustus L., 19 and Mary F., 10 and 5 others of unknown relationship.
Based on the above, she was born likely in 1838 and died in 1863.
