James Lewis "Jimmy" Cain, 71 years of age, of Nancy, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, July 18th, 2008 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Jimmy was born on July 8th, 1937 in Faubush, Kentucky, son of the late Oscar Lee Cain and Ula Maxine Harris Cain. He was the owner and operator of James Cain Excavating, a member of the Sievers Masonic Lodge No#491 of Nancy, Kentucky, a Oleika Temple Shriner, and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and his donkeys.

Jimmy was survived by his loving wife, Freda Beshears Cain, whom he married on May 24th, 1954 in Williamsburg, Kentucky; two sons, Steven (and Katie) Cain of Nancy, Kentucky and J.C. (and Jami) Cain of Somerset, Kentucky; one daughter, Glenna Lane of Somerset, Kentucky; one brother, Ertis (and Imogene) Cain of Nancy, Kentucky; one sister, Fern (and Winfred) Sowders of Nancy, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Penny Long, Chris Cain, Jeremy Cain, Josh Leach, Stephen Cain, Carly Cain, Morgan Roberts, Amber Scales, and Adam Scales; eleven great-grandchildren, Autumn Long, Jacob Long, Alex Cain, Kambry Leach, Aislyn Cain, Dylan Cain, Kelby Cain, Kolton Cain, Rylan Cain, Caleb Scales, and Caleb Leach; and a special friend, Gerald Wilson of Nancy, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Lee and Ula Maxine Cain.

Visitations were held on Sunday, July 20th, 2008 after 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky. Masonic rites were conducted by the Sievers Masonic Lodge No#491 of Nancy, Kentucky at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Knofsky and Bro. David Bullock officiating.

Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.
