Frances Sara Schueler, known to family and friends as "Sue," was born Sept. 7, 1926, at Atkins to Nicholas and Sara (Grimm) Schueler.
On Oct. 5, 1945, she married Franklin Burkart at Marion. He preceded her in death in 1962. She was united in marriage to Clayton Cain on July 5, 1968, and he preceded her in death in 2008.
Sue was a life member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Atkins where she enjoyed membership in the Ladies Guild and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Atkins Legion Auxiliary and organized Sue's Jolly Coffee Group. Sue had served as a Cub Scout den mother and was a great contributor to the Atkins Community through her volunteer efforts.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Franklin "Junior" Burkart; her stepson, Clayton "Skip" Cain II; her granddaughter, Meegan Burkart; three brothers; and five sisters.
