FORT WORTH - Loyd Cain, a retired building engineer for the First United Building, formerly the Texas Electric Building, died Saturday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 82.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Arrangements: Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Mr. Cain was born in San Saba and lived most of his life in Fort Worth. He was a 1930 graduate of Central High School and worked for the First United Building for 42 years before his retirement in 1977.
Mr. Cain was an active member of Sandy Lane Christian Church and served twice as chairman of the board.
He managed several winning baseball teams, including the Methodist Church League championship in 1957 and the Fair Parking Garage Industrial League championship in 1955.
Survivors, all of Fort Worth: Wife, Virginia Cain; two daughters, Barbara Hensley and Delores Tackett; brother, Robert "Bob" Cain Jr.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
