PERU/MONTGOMERY, N.Y. -- Irene Ann "Nannie" Adams, 75, formerly of Peru, N.Y. and Montgomery, N.Y., died in the loving arms of her children in Westampton, N.J.
Ann was born in Worcester, Mass., on Sept. 14, 1932, to the late James D. and Clara G. (O'Hara) Cahill.
She graduated from Worcester City Nursing School in 1953 and practiced as a registered nurse for over 25 years in Massachusetts and New York. On Nov. 14, 1953, she began a beautiful marriage of 34 years to her soul mate, John P. Adams, who passed away in 1989.
Ann is survived by her four children and four grandchildren, John P. Adams Jr. and daughter-in-law, Carol of Wilmington, N.C., Paul D. Adams and daughter-in-law, Kim Lawrance; and grandson, David of Peru, N.Y.; Dennis M. Adams and daughter-in-law, Paige; and grandchildren, Casey and Emily of Montgomery, N.Y.; and Patricia "Murphy" Ortiz and son-in-law, Jamie; and granddaughter, Jackie Darrah of Westampton, N.J.; Ann is also survived by her younger brother, Dr. James D. Cahill of Springfield, Vt.
Her love, guidance and dedication to her family have always been her passion and were her greatest gifts to those she loved.
Family and friends are invited to the First Presbyterian Church of Montgomery on Clinton St., Montogomery, N.Y., for a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. Feb. 2, 2008.
