Vera's parents moved up White river from Bradford whin she was 11 yrs old. Stone county and the hills seemed to be dryer and better suted for her mothers health.Her dad William A.Cagle had bought 110 acres from a Mr.Issom on Sugar Hill.
At 15 she married Burrell Jenkins.She had four children, Paul, Raymond, Elsidean, and Burlean. Five days before Burlean was born, Her husband Burrell died from pneumonia.
Ten mo.later she married my dad, Fount Barnes and in time they had five more children,Ottis,Kermitt,Evelyn,Rubin and Linda
