Her obituary lists her name as Frances Elizabeth Amason Caffey, but her tombstone shows her first name spelled as "Francis." Also, she has a sister named "Elizabeth Louise," so I'm not sure that they would have named another daughter "Elizabeth."

The Amason Family Bible lists her name as "Eliza F. Amason" which agrees with her TX Death Cert. that shows her name as "Eliza Francis."

Funeral Services For
Mrs. Frances E. Caffey
Held Here Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Caffey, 95 year old resident of Rockdale who died Thursday, were held Friday afternoon from Phillips & Luckey funeral chapel with Rev. O. J. Morgan the pastor in charge. The assisting minister was Rev. L. B. Jones, minister of the First Baptist church.

Following the service the body was taken to Salty where burial was made in the community cemetery beside her husband, Monroe Caffey who died in 1928.

Casket attendants were Garland Caffey, nephew of Buckholts, C. I. Holliman of Dallas, Jesse Prator [sic] of Corsicana, Cecil Caffey of Fort Worth all grandsons, Jesse Kirk of Cameron, Mr. Harris of Austin, grandsons-in-law.

Mrs. Caffey, as Frances Elizabeth Amason, was born in the state of Alabama on Dec. 26, 1856, and within two months would have reached her 95th birthday. After her marriage to Monroe Caffey in 1882 the couple came to Milam county, Texas and located in the Salty community. It was here they established their home and reared four sons and four daughters. Besides her husband, two sons preceded her in death.

Mrs. Caffey had lived in this section for close to sixty-nine years. She remained in the old home place at Salty until 1947 when she and her youngest daughter came to Rockdale where she had since lived. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Mrs. Caffey was a sister of the late F. M. Amason, who was a well known citizen of Rockdale and San Gabriel. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Johnny Caffey of Waco, Mrs. Minnie Holliman of Vernon, Mrs. Ethel Splitt of Alta Loma, Edd Caffey of Austin, Mrs. Lillie Praytor of Corsicana, Mrs. Bettie Stewart of Rockdale; also 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
