Services held at Vaiden for Mrs. Bennett
Services for Mrs. Maggie Louise Cade Bennett were held at the Vaiden Methodist Church on Thursday, March 11, 1965, at three o'clock. The Rev. Grady S. Bailey, Jr. officiayted, assisted by two other ministers of the town, The Rev, J.A. Wade and the Rev. Morris Taylor.
Mrs. Bennett, who had just passed her 63rd birthday, died on March 9 at the Tyler Holmes hospital in Winona after a long illness. She had spent most of her married life in Vaiden, where she was active in the religious, civic, and social life of the town. To know her was to love her.
She is survived by her husband, Percy A. Bennett, Jr. and two grandchildren, Pam and "Chip" of Memphis; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Martha Holmes of Winona; Mrs. Winnie Davidson of Junction City, Ark.; and Mrs. Olive Cade of Lexington; a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were: J.O. Cearley, George Turbeville, Jr., W.P. Crook, Herman Michie, F.D. Prewitt and Herman Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were B.W. Holmes, C.U. Canon, V.F. Anderson, Claude Hatcher, J.H. Armstrong, Rufus B. Smith, Dr. H.R. Power, Taylor Everette, Alton Parker, Mack Boykin, J.G. Fullilove.
Burial was in Vaiden Cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge.
