Lear Mae Baker, 91 of Mohawk Dr. Lucasville, Ohio died Wednesday August 24, 2011 at the Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born on March 12, 1920 in Shelby Gap, KY to the late John and Bessie Jane Laws Cable. She was united in marriage on February 4, 1939 to Sanford Baker who preceded her in death on March 23, 2004. Surviving are a son, Gary Baker of McDermott, OH; Three daughters, Barbara (Phyl) Baker of Lucasville, Carole (John) Wilson, and Garnet (Jim) Davis both of Newark, Ohio. Ten grandchildren: Brian, Becky, Dale, Raina, Bethany, Jason, Bobby, Russ, Belinda, and Rob, Thirty-one great grandchildren: Brandi, Kyle, Dakota, Liz, William, Walter, Kathryn, Kristyn, Melanie, Mason, Jonny, Brittany, Kristen, Hannah, Eli, Ava, Jesse, Isabelle, Emma, Alexis, Reagan, Micah, Cheyenne, Jordan, Karl, Patrick, Piper, Akira, Xander, Carleigh, Bobby, Jr., five great great grandchildchildren, and all who considered her mother and mamaw. She was preceded in death by a son, John Baker, son-in-law, Dale, Sr., and a sister Gertrude Elkins. She was retired from Edgewood Manor in Lucasville, was a former employee of the former Woodland Care, McDermott, OH, and attended the Rarden Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Brad Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 12:00 noon-1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the SOMC Hospice 2201 25th St. Portsmouth, OH 45662.
