Sadie Cabe Ammons

Sadie Cabe Ammons, 90, of Ammons Road, Franklin, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at a local nursing home.

She was a native of Macon County and the daughter of the late Charles Clinton and Mary Ellen Dowdle Cabe. She was married to Gordon Ammons, who passed away March 17, 1997. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jake, Lester and C.R. Cabe.

She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter and did needlework. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was faithful in her church, the family said.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean Doster and husband Charles and Margaret Angel, all of Frnaklin; four sons, Thomas Ammons and wife Henrietta, Earl Ammons and wife Donita, Larry Ammons, all of Franklin, and Dale Ammons and wife Gwen of Asheville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Al Beck officiated.

Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruce Ammons, Keith Doster, Tommy Ammons, Drew Ammons, Charles Keener, James Cabe and Warren Cabe.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Bryant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Jean Sutton, 1822 Clarks Chapel Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.

Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
