Nicoloza "Nicky" Berentson, age 82, of Mapleton, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato.

Nicky was born on September 16, 1926 to Refugio and Juana (Paredes) Caballero in Cisco, TX. She was united in marriage to Vern L. Berentson on March 20, 1948 in Pemberton, MN. Nicoloza enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her family, doing the mini page on Mondays and reading her magazines.

She is survived by five sons and two daughters-in-law, six daughters and three sons-in-law, 30 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two more on the way, four sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins [survivors names omitted]. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant sister; brothers, Lupe and Jesse (Juanita); two infant grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Wilmer Berentson and Joe Perfecto.—Landkamer–Johnson–Boman Funeral Home, Mankato, MN
