Glenn Woodrow Culver,74, of RD 3,Shickshinny,died Monday mourning,Aug.3,1987 in the Berwick Hospital Center where he had been a medical patient since July 8.He had been ill for the past five years.Born in Lehman,June 25,1913,he was the son of the late Elmer and Olive Souder Culver.He resided in Shickshinny most of his life,and had been employed by A.C.F. of Berwick for 25 years as a track foreman in the railroad department.He had last been employed by Luzerne Outwear,Salem Township,in the maintenance department for 15 years,retiring 12 years ago.Mr. Culver was a naval veteran of World War 2,serving as a parachute rigger third class in the Asiatic-Pacific.He was a lifetime member of the Shickshinny VFW Post 5430 and the Mocanaqua Sporting Club.Mr. Culver and his wife,the former Anna Williams,celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary,Aug.10,1986.Surviving in addition to his wife are sons,Glenn William,Hunlock Creek:Paul D.,RD 3,Shickshinny;George A.Williams,Milton,N.Y.;daughters,Mrs.Thomas(Shirley)Kulp,Alexandria,Ala.;Mrs Donald(Isabel)Trudeau,Trumbull,Conn.;brothers,Harry,New Columbia;Alvin,Concord,N.C.;George Welch,Berwick;Robert Welch,Shickshinny;sisters,Mrs Elmer(Beatrice)Mowery,Spring City;Mrs.William(Sarah)Bacon,Phoenixville;27 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren.Private funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Robert Zofcin Funeral Home,38 N.Main St.,Shickshinny with Rev.Warren Birdsall,pastor of the Bible Baptist Church,Shickshinny,officiating.Interment will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery,Shickshinny.
