Coward, Frederick Herman
DANVILLE, Va. - Frederick Herman Coward, 84, of 537 Ricketts Street, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 19, 1918 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Will Coward and Tabitha Aaron Coward.
He was a member of County Line Christian Church in Callands, Va. He worked as an inspector for Dan River, Inc.
He was married to Ella Merricks Coward, who predeceased him.
He is survived by four sons, Jerry W. Coward, Bobby S. Coward, Milton W. Coward and Maynard A. Coward, all of Danville; one brother, J. E. Coward of Callands; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Melvin Coward and Hassell Coward.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at County Line Christian Church with the Rev. Dean Ashby and the Rev. Ken Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Barker Funeral Home Chapel, 2025 North Main Street, Danville. At other times they will be at the residence, 537 Ricketts Street.
