He was born March 23, 1919 in Yukon, W. Va., the son of William T. and Rachael Jackson Christian.
He had been a resident of Streamwood for over 10 years and been a resident of Springfield since 1994. He had been employed by Rolex Corp. in Elk Grove Village before retiring. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the Army. He was a member of VFW Post 3375, Brighton, Mo.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Nancy Kolesar of Missouri, Blanche Byrd of Chicago and Joy Aganath of Missouri.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Christian and Sherman Thomas; two sisters, Gladys Thomas and Francis Richardson; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be 1 p.m., Saturday until the time of services in the funeral home.
