Bob was born in Creighton MO to Burr Grant Byrum & Sarah Viola Swearngin. They then moved to Custer CO MT where his younger sister Ruth Byrum (Estes) was born. He had an older sister Ida Irene Byrum (Taylor) who was born in MO and an older brother Walter Curtis Dale Byrum, born in Custer Co MT. The family finally settled in Kelso, Cowlitz, WA. Bob loved horses and was a blacksmith on the side well after retiring from the Cowlitz PUD. He married Virginia Riggs
