Clara Baker, 65, a longtime resident of Wellington, died Saturday, June 29, 1996.
She was born July 18, 1930 in Longrove, Oklahoma. Her parents were Walter Byrd and Lillie Doughty Byrd. She came to Wellington in 1939.
November 3, 1949, she and Hubert Baker, Sr. were married in Wellington. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Baker, Sr.; one son, Nolan Baker, Jr. of Wellington; three daughters, Jayne Baker of Hollis, OK; Cathy Romo of Wellington and Letha Wofford of Vernon; two brothers, Alva Byrd of Wellington and Sam Byrd of Vernon; one sister, Leona Mathews of Chilicothe; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
